We were supposed to receive the results of my cat's (June) blood work within 24-48 hours from her appointment on Wednesday morning (9/9 @ 8 AM), and we paid handsomely to have it done, but we have heard nothing. However, I have received a customer survey-esque text asking me if I have questions, but noting I can only respond during business hours the next day. I would also like to add that after 30 minutes of taking my cat to the back of the vet offices to conduct blood testing, they were unable to administer a single test. At my suggestion afterwards, I held June for 5-10 minutes, but it was equally unsuccessful in drawing blood or urine. I then suggested the use of gabapentin and the vet techs agreed and kept June for an additional 2 hours, but then decided to opt out of a urinalysis, despite her recorded history of kidney and bladder issues. During the initial visit, without any real testing and with only about 60-90 seconds of examination, the vet told me that my 7 year old cat with a suddenly onset eye issue and no other symptoms probably had a terminal form of cancer, without further explanation. We were promised 2 different forms of eye drops (a steroid, and an NSAID) as well as a liquid antibiotic during the appointment. Upon leaving the first time, we were told the antibiotic had to be ordered because it wasn't readily available, but would be in and available soon. The vet called me a couple hours after we were seen on Wednesday morning, and casually told us that she might not be there to give us results on Friday (even though they would be available) because she didn't feel well this week, and that because June didn't have overly high levels of eye pressure or signs of ocular ulcers, that it was definitely looking like cancer. Upon pick-up of June and her prescriptions on Wednesday early afternoon, they rescinded the antibiotics until further diagnosis, without any explanation. After delivering the likely cancer diagnosis again, the vet giggled on the phone and immediately went into sales mode. Her next sentence was making sure we scheduled a follow-up visit next week, without any context. It all felt like a money grab, with very little care given to my cat. This is the second cat of mine that I have brought to this specific vet this summer and had a negative experience with. The previous time I brought another one of my cats, we were told to prepare for my healthy 6 year old cat to be in complete renal failure because she was presenting UTI symptoms. And after extensive and expensive testing, we were told her diagnosis was behavioral FIC (basically behavioral peeing outside of the litterbox because of stress) which honestly felt like a lack of diagnosis. And I was given no real, tangible treatment plan to help her with this diagnosis. They wouldn't give us information over the phone, but insisted on a second visit. In addition, we were also told that she was very overweight (10.06 lbs)- but were given no dietary or lifestyle suggestions. But when they weighed my second cat, June, who is similarly framed, she weighed in at 8.6 lbs, and the vet referred to her as "tiny", without any dietary or lifestyle suggestions again. Regardless of the diagnosis of either of my cats, the bedside manner of the vet was incredibly bad. To be told my cats are probably dying or giving them a fatal diagnosis with a smile on her face and no explanation or sense of urgency has led us to seek completely different care after this visit with June. The vet techs that we saw were incredible (Rosemary and Erica) and I give them so much credit for their transparency and care of my pets, but after we get the results of June's bloodwork (hopefully), we will not be back and will not recommend this vet to any pet owner we know.
Really it’s no stars. Absolutely, do not take your pet to this clinic for care for any reason. They can’t even manage simple preventative care well. The staff are incompetent all around. We go to this clinic because my husband works in veterinary medicine, so we get a discount. Let me tell you, the discount is not worth the trouble. They cannot do the easiest tasks right. It takes weeks to get medication refills and literally nothing has ever gone smoothly. They love to give the excuse that they are busy, but my husband worked in veterinary primary care, and we know they are not THAT busy. We brought one of our dogs in for a scheduled routine dental and were told to arrive at 7:30am. They were in a different building and no one told us. Once he figured that out, he and our dog were then placed in an exam room and he was there for 30 min. No one ever came in. He went to leave with our dog and the front desk person went to the back and the director never came out. As usually, no one seemed to have a clue what was going on. The staff, the medical director, and the leadership of this facility should be extremely embarrassed of how inefficient and poorly run this clinic is. My husband will be trying to get in touch with regional leadership or someone from corporate. We don’t expect anything to be done or even to receive a call from the medical director as promised. I am mainly posting this to hopefully save people from bringing their beloved pets to this clinic expecting good care. We will no longer attempt to trust this clinic with our precious animals’ care and you shouldn’t either.
My Personal First Experience:
Great Team Members and amazing Doctors. I'm a new Pet Parent, Noni and Dr. Vega were so patient and helpful to me!! They were eager to answer any questions or concerns I had. Honestly, a beautifully peaceful space and environment. Super confident they'll take care of my first ever adopted furry friend in the future and include all the works to make him feel very comfortable from routine annual visits to any major concerns.
