Update 9-26: one year later. 10⭐️’s! A BIG THANK YOU to CSU Veterinary Ophthalmology team, led by Dr. Riley Aronson, DMV Resident, who successfully and diligently pursued the goal of restoring both Bella and Nicklaus’s eye health! We are So GRATEFUL! On August 2025 both of our Samoyeds were diagnosed with dry eye, with Nicklaus having a very severe case. After 6 months of unsuccessful and frustrating treatment by a reputable opthamology veterinarian in Loveland we reached out to CSU for their expertise, care and compassion a year ago. Bella quickly responded to treatment, and she continues daily medication for her improved eye health. Nicklaus rarely opened his eyes, squinting and seeking dark environments after many burning treatments at the Loveland office. Treatment/surgery suggestions included removing a gland from his mouth to be placed into his eyes! I was fearful he was losing his eye sight! CSU was understanding and monitored medications and his care to successfully remove an ulcer and two superior eyelid masses. After many prayers, intensive medications and the CSU veterinarian expertise Nicklaus has greatly improved eye health!! What an amazing team they are! We highly recommend their care! Before and after photos and a photo of Dr. Riley Aronson DVM - she is a GEM!!❤️🐾🐾 8-25. We have been treating our two Samoyed’s dry eyes for the last year with another eye specialist, with no great results. The expertise, care and knowledge from the CSU Vet students Robin and Eric, the resident Vet, Dr Angela and faculty Dr. Kathryn was spectacular! We have seen great improvements in our dogs with one visit! We have Hope are so grateful for the team at CSU! ❤️💙🐾🐾

I’ve had two dogs who had surgery at CSU - one was 13 and another almost 14. They got excellent care, and the vets and staff are skilled and caring.

We brought our little Leon in with a super high fever, staff was super helpful and quick to help us with diagnosing him. We were also able to get him into a clinical trial through the school. Thank you to everyone involved for helping our sweet boy. I highly recommend their ER and internal medicine.

This event happened in feb of 2026, but I am only posting now after hearing what seems like endless horrible rabbit encounters and wanted share my experience to help others. It was a weekend and our vet was closed, we discovered our bun was in GI stasis. We called ahead to let them know and rushed him in. They immediately took him back then we were given no updates for over 2+ hrs, despite asking multiple times. Then we finally get an update informing us our rabbit was mishandled and went into respiratory distress and had been in an oxygen chamber for 2 hrs and had not even been triaged. When I expressed my disappointment with this ( in a firm but appropriate manner) the vet began to cry and said I was attacking her then refused to speak directly to me and would only speak to my wife for the rest of our horrible experience. We were told there was not exotic vet on staff and they were consulting with one via phone. they reported they had to put him under sedation for X-rays in the end he didn’t make it out of anesthesia. As I was walking out of the hospital holding my lifeless bunny after 9 hrs of horrible care, the vet attempted to tell me that brining him home would have been damaging for our other pets and him dying here was best and he likely would have died even if he made it out of anesthesia. I know my rabbit was very sick and his death was likely not their fault, however they took an already horrible day and made it 1000% worse with lack of care, communication, compassion and basic bedside manner. I truly think they need to be removed from the recommend hospital for rabbits in Colorado and I actively tell people to avoid taking any pet here. I attempted to file a complaint against the vet and office staff the same day but it took weeks for someone to reach back out to me and my heart was broken and no longer cared about helping them understand what horrible care we had received.
